The unique feature of the Roll Air is the fully retractable polythene roof. In under a minute your crop can be indoors or outdoors free of any shade without having to move an inch! Since the plants can be kept in optimal conditions inside a Roll Air and do not have to be moved to harden off significant savings in labour & loss of plants can be made whilst maximising plant growth.

In addition, costs are reduced – plants are maintained in tip top condition and require less maintenance – benefiting from the best of both worlds: protection from adverse weather and exposure to just the right amount of sunlight & shade thanks to the opening roof.
The same is said for the customer experience inside a roll air - comfort is priority no1 when it comes to garden centres and one of the main factors affecting footfall will be the weather.
Unlike a conventional polytunnel / glass canopy that becomes stifling hot in the warmer seasons the opening roofs of the roll air release the trapped heat providing ventilation and shade at the same time. And if it happens to rain – the roof is closed in less than a minute to keep those customers happily shopping!

Rovero created a specialist reinforced polythene film (Netfilm) for use on the rolling roof systems. This film is incredibly strong thanks to the reinforcing criss-cross fibres whilst still maintaining an very credible 83% light transmission (PAR).
A standard version is available for growers, and a flame retardant version is used by the garden centres.

The Roll Air is supplied with specialised Rovero Aluminum Gutters. These are very strong – able to withstand snow loads up to 100kg per meter - and have a very high drainage capacity (85% more than average) - perfect for British weather! The drained rainwater is suitable for harvesting as irrigation water.
This gutter has a low CO2 footprint and a long lifespan.

The robust, patented motorised roof opening system of two motors per bay each with a specialised support rack rolls the entire roof film smoothly and tightly up to the ridge, putting your crop outside in no time.
The drive incorporates a patented torque limiter system which switches off the drive at a pre-set force so that the film is flawlessly rolled to the correct tension in all seasons and held stable during periods of strong wind, rain & snow.
An additional switch box with thermal cut out is supplied to provide added protection to the motors.

In the ridge, the arches are linked to an aluminum ridge profile with a steel ridge cover plate above to protect the rolled-up film.
Secondary arches are also mounted on the roof to protect the film from strong winds.
The half-moons on the end gables are clad with the same transparent Rovero Netfilm that is on the roof using an aluminium grip rail system on the arches & lattice.
